At the end of the course I will be qualified to teach physical education and French to students up to the age of 18.  My love of the outdoors started at a young age when we would visit various camps with our school although I didn’t realize the opportunities for working in this industry until later. Irene

Hi everyone! I’m Irene and I’m originally from Weston, MA but currently live in Bristol, VT with my cousin and her four kids.  I am one of four myself, and have grown up living and breathing sports with my siblings…everything from gymnastics and figure skating to ice hockey, lacrosse, cross country, and even squash. My activity of choice recently is yoga; this past fall I got my 200-hour yoga instructor certification from Sacred Seeds Yoga School. In the fall of 2010 I spent a semester with NOLS (the National Outdoor Leadership School) exploring the southwestern part of the US.  I went on an expedition backpacking through the wilderness in New Mexico, canoeing on the Rio Grande in Texas and Mexico, and rock climbing in Arizona; it was the best three months of my life.  From this experience I learned more than I ever have in any classroom.  However, I do spend a lot of time in classrooms too; I am an upcoming junior at the University of Vermont where I am studying environmental engineering and mathematics.  I am so looking forward to an adventure filled summer!
